Rats laugh when you tickle them! And they love it

           Scientists have decided something strange,
after trying to tickle some animals - especially rats.
When the scientists started to tickle rats, they used a machine that detects high pitched frequencies and makes them audible to our weak human ears.

These recordings showed that the rats were making noises while being tickled. This noise was laughter!

Everyone loves being tickled! Scientists found that after tickling rats, the rats would begin to enjoy the person's company more.

They would start to play with the trainer's hands, and constantly follow the hand wherever put theirs!  Read more at OMG Facts

A 2-year-old boy had weight loss surgery!

A 2-year-old Saudi Arabian boy is the youngest person ever to get a bariatric surgery.

He got his stomach stapled because he was too obese at 73 pounds and had health complications as a result.  The boy's parents had already tried to keep his weight down. He was 47 pounds at 14 months old. Earlier attempts to control his weight had proven futile.  The boy was suffering from sleep apnea and bowing of the legs. Doctors decided on an irreversible surgery in which they removed the outer part of his stomach.  The boy lost about 15% of his body weight two months after the surgery. He eventually got down to a normal BMI. However, some doctors think this might result in vitamin deficiencies later on.

Diseases from dirty water kill more people than war each year.

A third of the world’s population lack sufficient access to safe drinking water and sanitation to meet their basic needs. This means that a third of the world’s population is at high risk for arsenicosis, cholera, fluorosis, malaria, and a plethora of other diseases.
Dirty water causes the death of over 170 million people each year. This can be compared to 10 jumbo jets crashing each year. This death toll is greater than that of all forms of violence, including wars. In fact, unclean water and poor sanitation are the second largest cause of death for children.

There's a SPA in Japan where you can bathe in coffee, tea and wine!

Although you probably don't wanna drink any of them, a Japanese hotspring in Hakone, Japan lets you get into what is basically a giant cup of coffee, green tea or wine.
Since the park is mostly natural hotsprings, they have to brew the coffee and pour it in the pools. The spa also has a giant teapot and a giant wine bottle from where those liquids come from.
Check out some more pics of this awesome place. http://en.ilovecoffee.jp/posts/view/38

Ttwo pieces of metal can weld together with no heat or other substances present!

In space, two pieces of metal can weld together with no heat or other substances present!

Normally if you want to join two pieces of metal together, you use heat, or some sort of chemical process to do it. However, when metal is in a vacuum (like in space), two different pieces of metal will weld together with no other external force present.

It's called Cold Welding and it was dicsovered in the 1940s. And it might sound very impracticle, but it's become extremely useful in nanoconstruction, tiny parts can be joined without the bulk of adhesives or melting.

A Roman couple have been holding hands for 1500 years!

Not only that, but they were probably buried looking into each others’ eyes. The couple were from the town of Mutina, now known as Modena, and were buried around the year 500 AD.
The bodies were found positioned next to each other with the male on the left and the female on the right. They are holding hand and the female’s skull faces towards where the male’s would be, however his skull is badly damaged.
Not much is known about the couple, except that they were married and, due to where and how the bodies were buried, were probably not very wealthy. The remains will go on display in a local museum later this year.   The eternal lovebirds weren’t the only ones found at the site. 3 mutilated skeletons were also excavated. One was a teen.
Some of the archaeologists say they were slaves executed by their master, however others believe they were murder victims due to the slash wounds they were found to have
